1 Peter 3:3-4 says, "Your beauty should not come from outward adonrment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewellery and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." That doesn't mean that you shouldn't braid your hair or wear jewellery or nice clothes, it means that that you should be more concerned about your character than your looks. We live in a narcistic world where everyone is self-absorbed and obsessed with physical beauty, this is a timely reminder that God looks at the heart, not your outward appearance.
