1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to "give thanks in all circumstances." This is easier said than done. Every morning I write three things that I'm thankful for. I actually write in in my notes on my phone but you could also use a journal. It's a good way to foster an attitude of gratitude. The Same God...
Psalm 42:1 says that we should seek after God like a thirsty deer looks for water. You know when you're so thirsty that your tongue sticks to the roof of your mouth and all you can think about is a glass of iced cold water (or similar chilled beverage)? Or perhaps you can relate to this - it's that time of the month and you would give your left arm for:
* some chocolate
* ice cream
* mud cake
* all of the above.
That's how we should passionately yearn and search for God. That means talking to Him, reading His word, living to please Him etc.
