If you will be in Perth on the 4th December put this in your diary—it's the book launch for Thirsty Deer: A guide for teen girls on how to love God with all your body, soul, strength and mind. The title says it all. I've been working on this project for nearly two years—almost done! I love the idea of Bible journaling but find it hard to make time. There is a lot of difficult stuff going on in the world right now. David wrote some awesome honest and raw Psalms when he was going through some difficult times so I thought I would write my own. It was very cathartic. You don't have to use fancy words, just be real. If you need some inspiration, read some of the Psalms in the Old Testament.
This is a worthwhile exercise for anyone. I recently went without my phone for about 15 hours. I lent it to my daughter because hers had locked her out. I was surprised at how well I managed without it cause it never leaves my side.
Dancing is one way to worship God. Psalm 149:3 says, Praise his name by dancing and playing music on harps and tambourines. Unfortunately most dance classes do not glorify God. Mount Pleasant Baptist Church has a dance group called Soul to Sole which runs weekly classes during the school terms. It is for girls and guys in years 2 to 11 but older teens are welcome to apply as well. They have a free concert on Saturday, 1st December from 6:15pm - 8:30pm at 497 Marmion Street, Booragoon, Western Australia. You can find more details about Soul to Sole here.
Abundant Life Centre has an online Spiritual Health Survey. It was designed for adults but is just as relevant for teens and young adults. We go to the doctor for a health check-up. We should have a spiritual health check-up too.
Short and sweet inspirations for Christian teen girls.
