We consume food every day to help fuel our bodies. If we eat healthy food, our bodies are healthy. If we eat junk food, our bodies are not healthy and we become overweight and prone to all kinds of illnesses and diseases. The thing is, even though junk food is not good for us, it tastes so good.
Every day we consume mass media - television, radio, billboards, magazines, movies etc. A lot of it is like junk food - it's not good for us, but it tastes good. Philippians 4:8 says, Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. The things that we watch, listen to and read influence what we think about. Maybe it's time to go on a media diet and start consuming healthier things.
