Christianity is like a car. When you first come to faith it is shiny and new, just like a new car, but as soon as you drive it out of the car yard you need to maintain it. You need to put fuel in it, you need to have it serviced annually, you need to clean it, you need to pay your registration and insurance... Your salvation needs maintenance too. You need to read and study your Bible, attend church and pray. Your faith needs to impact every area of your life - what you say, how you spend your time and your money, how you treat people... Philippians 2:12 says, Therefore, my dear friends...continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. That doesn't mean that you need to do good to be saved, you're saved by faith but you need to maintain it, like you would your car. So, how's your faith? Is it in good condition, a wreck or abandoned?
