Studentdevos.com has a great devotional on the power of your thoughts. Just like images on your phone, your thoughts can be deleted or shared and good thoughts can lead to success, just like focussing on good photos of yourself will lead to a more positive self-image than if you focus on the bad pictures.
Romans 12:2 says, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will. So if you have a bad thought, delete it and if you have a good one, share it. You can read the full devotion here.

Fevr.net has a great article by Hannah Steele Clarke about Christians being labelled as intolerant because of their views on homosexuality. Australia is debating the issue of same sex marriage at the moment. So what does the Bible say about homosexuality? Hannah points out that the Bible is clear about homosexuality being a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says, Don’t you know that evil people won’t have a share in the blessings of God’s kingdom? Don’t fool yourselves! No one who is immoral or worships idols or is unfaithful in marriage or is a pervert or behaves like a homosexual will share in God’s kingdom. Neither will any thief or greedy person or drunkard or anyone who curses and cheats others. Some of you used to be like that. But now the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of God’s Spirit have washed you and made you holy and acceptable to God (CEV).
As Christians we are called to hate the sin and love the sinner. Hannah suggests that our response should be to love homosexuals and to be honest. We don't need to stand on a street corner and preach against homosexuality, but if we're asked for our opinion, we should be honest about our beliefs. Jesus loved and hung out with liars, cheats, prostitutes and all manner of sinners. We should be like him. You can read the full article here. Not everyone is blessed with a great earthly dad, but the Bible says that God is a father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5). Your heavenly father is all that you need. If you are blessed with a great earthly dad, let him know regularly, not just on Father's Day. Here's a great song about the father heart of God by Chris Tomlin. |
