It is natural to want to fit in, but as Christians we're called to be different.
Galatians 5:19-21 says, The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissections, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like... These are evident all over the world. But Galatians 5:22-23 says, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Big difference, hey!
The type of clothes you wear, the television shows you watch, the music you listen to, the friends you choose, the language you use all give clues as to whether you are friends with God or friends with the world. This doesn't mean that you can't have friends who are not Christians, or listen to secular music, or watch television or go to the movies. Your friendship with God should be reflected in your choices, words and actions.
