www.412teens.org gets it's name from 1 Timothy 4:12 which says Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. It is dedicated to encouraging Christian teens and sharing Biblical truths. Their website publishes reviews of popular media such as books and movies so that you can make informed decisions as to what to read or watch.
Rebecca Brooks wrote a great article on 8 ways to pray that you can find on the Christianity Today website. She suggests:
1. Keeping a Prayer Journal 2. Going on a Prayer Walk 3. Pray over your calendar and schedule 4. Pray scripture - turn verses into prayers 5. Pray about the news 6. Find a prayer partner 7. Be quiet - you have to listen too 8. Keep a prayer on your lips - pray continually. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.
The world is beginning to realise that the risks of being sexually active are not limited to pregnancy and STDs but also psychological damage - guilt, regret, depression, loss of intimacy, loss of self-respect etc. Sex is a powerful union and should not be treated casually. Your virginity is the best wedding gift you can give your husband. Here are some more Gratitude Journal prompts:
1. Name a Bible character that you are grateful for. 2. Write something that happened at school this week that you are grateful for. 3. Name something that you own that you're grateful for. 4. What technology are you grateful for? 5. What is something or someone that you're grateful for at your church? 6. Name something in nature that you're grateful for. 7. What is a leisure activity that you're grateful for? 8. What song or artist are you grateful for? 9. Write something someone did to bless you. 10. Is there someone who's testimony you're grateful for? Holly Vincente Robaina wrote a great article on how to have a better friendship with God. One of the steps was to Schedule a devotional appointment. It's easy to get distracted with homework, social networking and Netflix so it's a good idea to schedule a regular time each day to meet with God. It doesn't matter what time. I have a breakfast appointment with God each day, but you may prefer an evening one. You can put an alarm on your phone so you don't forget too. You can read the full article here.
